We flew from Trapani, Sicily to Cagliari, Sardinia on March 19, to begin our 12-day visit to this "other" Mediterranean island. We didn't know what to expect from Sardinia, but our three night stay in Cagliari really set the stage for a great visit. Cagliari was clean, vibrant, and medieval, but with modern conveniences. We stayed at B&B Cappuccine, hosted by Giovanni, who met us at the Cagliari airport. The B&B is tastefully restored and very charming. With only three rooms, it feels like staying in a villa. The B&B is perfectly situated against the massive castle walls, with the medieval old town uphill above it, and the vibrant Marina District below....

On our first evening in Cagliari we explored the area around the B&B... and had an apertivo at Antico Caffe' 1855...

| Typical street scene... |
The next day we walked down through the Marina District to the harbor. Many interesting sights to see...but some rain sent us back toward the B&B...

 |
| The Superman ship...? |
 |
| Nice to know that the World remembers... |
In the main piazza near the B&B they were setting up for a Chocolate Festival to start the next day....are these chocolate festivals following us...?
Despite some on-and-off rain, an excellent first day in Cagliari....
